Forestry for Life operates to the highest standards, outlined by the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA) and the Voluntary Carbon Standards (VCS).
The rainforest is safe from fire as the land is moist all year round.
The Financial Opportunity:
The original investment is a one off payment of at least £25,000.
For an investment of £25,000 you would receive 1,000 Verified Emission Reduction (VER) carbon credits per annum, for 50 years. This totals 50,000 credits throughout the 50 year term.
This works out to just 50 pence per credit guaranteed. Additional credits are available at £5,000 per 200 credits.
For the first 3 years FFL will manage the sale of your carbon credits on the carbon market and guarantee you a return of 12% each year, on the sum invested. This is paid on a monthly basis.From year 4 onwards Forestry For Life will be there to assist you in the selling of your carbon credits for anyone not familiar with the process. In essence it works in much the same way as trading shares.
During 2008 up to £120 billion was traded in carbon credits on the carbon market, making this an established investment.
The Ecological Opportunity:
If I were to ask you what the main cause of global warming was, what would you say?
Our cars...The increase in technology across the world... Airlines?
All of these are significant but pale in comparison to the 20% of carbon emissions that deforestation produces.
In short, stopping illegal logging is the fastest and cheapest solution to climate change.Global warming is increasing all of the time; there is a short period to make a real difference before we have gone so far there will be no turning back.
It is up to everyone, not only large businesses to either reduce or offset their carbon emissions.Reducing these emissions can be tackled most simply by stopping the destruction of the rainforests in Brazil, Indonesia, the Indian sub continent and elsewhere.Investments like these are at the forefront of an initiative to educate people that rainforests are worth more alive than dead.
Forestry For Life has turned this global problem into a global opportunity, now it is up to investors to take it.
The Exit Strategy:
VER (verified emission reduction) forestry carbon credits are for sale at anything between £7 - £14.
On year 4 you will receive 1,000 credits per year for 47 years, these are yours to trade as you see fit, you may also use Forestry For Life as carbon brokers.
Alternatively the carbon credit trading market is growing yearly, according to some it will be the worlds biggest commodity market and potentially the biggest market overall.
The profit is the difference between the 50 pence you have bought the credits at and the carbon credit sale price.
If Forestry becomes a CER (certified emission reduction) credit the values may increase to closer to £20.
Financial Return Breakdown: (Investment of £25,000).
Year 1 guaranteed return of 12% = £3,000
Year 2 guaranteed return of 12% = £3,000
Year 3 guaranteed return of 12% = £3,000
Year 4 - 50: 1,000 carbon credits per annum = If sold at just £7 per credit = £7,000 per annum.
